Summer Program Director

  • Envision, plan, implement, and evaluate the summer camp program for day, overnight youth, and adult camps.

  • Design and tailor the weekly schedule according to weather, age, and ability

  • Oversee, train, manage, motivate, and mentor Resource staff members on a daily basis

  •  Oversee and manage the Waterfront Director and ensure local laws and regulations are followed.

  • Work closely with the Summer Camp Director and other leadership staff to ensure continuity of program.

  • Follow all camp policies and procedures and hold staff accountable to the same. 


Adult Program Unit Leader

  • Supervise appropriate level of care, paying close attention to assisted daily living activities, hygiene, dietary and behavior needs, and cleanliness of lodging

  •  Manage all aspects of adult program including adherence to schedule, walking groups, mealtimes, administrative duties, and daily devotionals.

  •  Work with Nursing Staff to ensure campers’ health and well being

  • Act as point of contact between camp and caretaker or family members

  • Oversee, manage, motivate, and mentor counselors on a daily basis

  • Conduct daily debrief meetings with counseling staff

  • Troubleshoot, de-escalate, and resolve difficult situations as needed

  • Follow all camp policies and procedures and hold staff accountable to the same 


Youth Program Unit Leader

  • Manage all aspects of youth program including adherence to schedule, mealtimes, administrative duties, and cleanliness of space.

  • Act as point of contact between camp and family members

  • Oversee, manage, motivate, mentor, and debrief with counselors on a daily basis

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate message time and evening vesper services

  • Troubleshoot, de-escalate, and resolve difficult situations

  • Ensure smooth registration and check-out

  • Follow all camp policies and procedures and hold staff accountable to the same 


Day Camp Unit Leader

  • Manage all aspects of Day Camp program including adherence to schedule, mealtimes, administrative duties, and cleanliness of space.

  • Oversee, manage, motivate, mentor and debrief with counselors on a daily basis

  • Envision, plan, implement, and evaluate weekly theme, program elements, and messagetime for eight weeks.

  • Act as point of contact between camp and family members

  • Troubleshoot, de-escalate, and resolve difficult situations

  • Follow all camp policies and procedures and hold staff accountable to the same

  • Participate in two evening activities per week

  • Provide one evening coverage for counseling staff per week 


Counselor

  • Serve as a Christian role model to all those in your care

  • Ability to care for and manage children of diverse ages and backgrounds.

  • Ability to care for and manage adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities

  • Adhere to program standards as well as risk management policies and procedures

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with campers and staff

  • Follow all camp policies and procedures 


Day Camp Counselor

  • Serve as a Christian role model to all those in your care

  • Ability to care for and manage children of diverse ages and backgrounds.

  • Adhere to program standards as well as risk management policies and procedures

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with campers, parents, and staff

  • Follow all camp policies and proceduresParticipate in two evening activities per week

  • Provide one evening coverage for counseling staff per week 


Maintenance Worker

  • Work with the Facilities Managers to maintain the facilities and grounds.

  • Assist with landscaping, building repairs, cleaning, and program projects

  • Participate in two evening activities per week

  • Provide one evening coverage for counseling staff per week 


Maintenance Supervisor

  • Work with the Facilities Managers to maintain the facilities and grounds.

  • Manage summer maintenance workers so as to ensure timely completion of tasks with close attention to detail

  • Ensure maintenance staff adhere to all risk management procedures including PPE

  • Assist with landscaping, building repairs, cleaning, and program projects

  • Participate in at least two evening activities per week

  • Provide at least one evening coverage for counseling staff per week 


Program Assistant

  • Setup and run activities enthusiastically for day, youth overnight, and adult campers.

  • Pay close attention to schedule times

  • Clean-up after activities and maintain recreation equipment

  • Carry out tasks assigned by the Program Director

  • Follow all camp policies and procedures 


Crafts & Store Coordinator

  • Envision, plan, order materials, run, and evaluate craft projects for day, youth overnight, and adult campers for an eight week program.

  • Maintain, clean, and inventory Crafts Room

  • Clerk in the camp store for the afternoons processing camper and staff purchases

  • Maintain, stock, and clean Camp Store daily

  • Process, account for, and manage cash transactions

  • Assist Program staff with activity preparation and execution

  • Carry out tasks assigned by the Program Director 


Waterfront Director

  • Oversee the Waterfront in the afternoons; run scheduled activities in the mornings and evenings,

  • Supervise daily swim-time for day, youth overnight, and adult campers

  • Coordinate lifeguard rotation and break schedule

  • Plan, run, and evaluate in-service training sessions with lifeguards weekly

  • Manage and maintain the Waterfront and Boating Area according to all local and

  • state regulations 


Lifeguard

  • Lifeguard in the afternoons; run activities in the mornings and evenings

  • Lifeguard daily swim time for day, youth overnight, and adult campers

  • Participate in weekly in-service lifeguard training

  • Maintain and clean beach and swim area

  • Run boating sessions for youth camps 


Kitchen Worker

  • Work with the Head Chef and cooks to prepare camp meals

  • Prep, make, and bake for two meals a day

  • Maintain kitchen and Main Dining Hall cleanliness

  • Participate in two program evening activities per week

  • Provide one evening coverage for counseling staff per week 


Media Assistant

  • Photograph and video record all elements of the camping program

  • Post daily updates to Grotonwood social media platforms

  • Capitalize on social media platforms so as to maximize marketing opportunities

  • Run AV and PA system during Chapels and facilitate other media needs

  • Provide one evening coverage for counseling staff per week

  • Carry out tasks assigned by the Camp Director and Executive Director 


Camp Nurse

  • Providing first aid care for campers and staff.

  • Overseeing the administration of medication to campers and staff.

  • Coordinating visits to physician or hospital when needed.

  • Monitoring the health and cleanliness standards.

  • Organizing paperwork and maintaining files/records

  • Ordering medical supplies and keeping the infirmary stocked.

  • Working closely with the camp Director and various other staff to help provide adequate physical health conditions for all staff and campers.

  • Assisting Program Support Staff with tasks as necessary.
